In Quest: Destination: Pyroclasm
In Quest - Destination: Pyroclasm - [Soulreaper Records]

2003-06-24

Boys and girls, today we will learn a new name for our music collection. The name is In-Quest. Their album is Destination: Pyroclasm. Their style…hmm…not something that you can find another that sounds like that.
Well, this one is another group that hails from Belgium and their kicking stuff there from the early 90's under the name System Shit. In 94 they've done a good step changing their name to the more unique In-Quest; lately they've requited Sven from Aborted and Douglas Verhoeven.
Since I haven't heard any of their two previous releases I can only judge them by their latest release: Destination: Pyroclasm it is. Let's start from the bad points and move on to the good ones. Well the only bad point here is that this is only a four songs EP. Too short for me since it leaves you with an unfinished taste in your mouth. Compare this feeling to amazing sex with Jenna Jameson for hours but suddenly she gets off your bed and leaves you with hours-aching blue balls…yeap, it is like that.
The good points are: The band plays their style of highly composed brutal Death Metal but not stop at this point, they mix it up with a good and balance technique, don't compare it to the well famous brutal-technique Cryptopsy, but think of that like the brutality and vocals of Aborted, the technique of Meshuggah with old Fear Factory influence and add to it songwriting that is all their own.
Both brutal and technique metal fans should check this one out, their upcoming album surely be one of the best album from this genre up to date.

Tomer .L.
