Synthetic Breed: Fractured
Synthetic Breed - Fractured - [unsigned]

2006-01-29

Synthetic Breed is a five-piece metal band from Melbourne, Australia, to describe their music is to imagine Fear Factory in a synthetic orgy with Meshuggah, meaning, highly complex and technical bio-metal, with a barrage of complex Poly rhythmic riffs, shouted to melodic vocals, and precision drumming.

Their 5 song EP is one album that cannot be easily digested, you will need a couple of listening sessions to take it all in, meaning, thrill seeking individuals looking for an easy ride should continue elsewhere, this is hardcore rocket scientist stuff.

There's certainly a lot of though and effort put into this EP, from the opening riff to Fragile, its clear that the band takes its craft seriously, the sound is very good, clear and crisp, and the combination of a highly accurate rhythm section with the complex riffing has an air of professionalism about it.
The vocals, as I said earlier, fluctuate from a death metal-like growl to some clear melodic ones, very reminiscent of Fear Factory's.

It's quite clear that those who abhor the technical and clinical genre that Fear Factory and Meshuggah helped to spawn should steer clear if this release, but those with an affinity to these two bands will find this release to be expertly done, well produced, and extremely mature.
