President Evil: Evil goes to Hollywood
President Evil - Evil goes to Hollywood - [Go down Believing]

2006-01-29

President Evil deliver a tight mixture of Stoner heaviness and Thrash speed in somewhat of a Punkrock outfit.
Tight drumwork by drummer Diamond Dennis is just the kind of drumwork I like- where the blasting isn't just a background tool to keep rhythm but an important instrument which makes the music vivid.

"One sick bastard", the opener, starts off reminding me of Godsmack (multi-effected guitar riff fades in with gentle drums) but quickly turns into an up-beat appetizer.
"Deathcar racer" shows an intro and verse sounding a bit like Dead soul Tribe (excluding the vocals) , while the chorus is much close to what the band would define as Thrash-n'-roll.
Johnny Holze's vocals are well fitted since they're very understandable and accessible ones- this is well heard in "Riot generator".
The closing track, "Dead man's float", has a good starting riff which builds up with the drums and bass to a perfect moshing song.

With an upcoming full length debut album, "The Trash N' Roll Assholeshow", due this April and shows with Disbelief, Betzefer, By Night and Ektomorf as well as signing with a large lable (AFM Records)- this four track EP is just what President Evil need to make their breakthrough.
