Filli Nigrantium Infernalium: Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator
Filli Nigrantium Infernalium - Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator - [Pro-con Media]

2006-01-29

A first full-length for this Portuguese metal act, after several demos (or should I say demons?) containing amazing drumwork by Gorg (suitable for a black-metal group, having a stage name), reminding me at times of early Cradle of Filth's drummer Nicholas Barker (who since his times in c.o.f was also been known from Dimmu Borgir and Old man's child).

This album starts off with a well composed intro (titled "Intro") which leads right into the action of "Calypso", with guitars like machine guns from both BTHZR and ANDREMON (which also share the vocal duties)- this song ends with a familiar riff, the Empirial March out of Star Wars.
"Bordel no Éden" starts with some atmospheric sounds over an overgrowing dual guitars until it blasts off to a groovier riff (thanks to bass player HELREGNI), the vocals are later accompanied with ones of an opera singer and the a short, sick, guitar solo finds it's way in too.

The next two are a tad more brutal, "Azur (Heliophobia)" and "Morte Geométrica" they're simply faster and don't leave much space to breath.
"Cães de Guerra" begins with a galloping riff and a female gypsy-folk-like vocal; for the first time having both high-pitch shrieks and low growls over melodic riffs combined into what sounds more like "3 inches of blood" song.
The follower, "Moïra" is more oldschool in attitude and due to its basic riffs, anthem material, lead guitar from the dirtiest abyss of hell and a changing tempo finish.
The next one, "A forca de Deua", really starts like a metal anthem (along with the sick multi layered scream that kicks it off) but quickly escapes to heavier districts, moves into a noise dub and then slips into the second part of it- which is more mid-tempo and could easily be the closure to this album- carrying all the element this satanic quartet has to offer.

The finishing track "Sacra Morte" shows once again that Gorg can really beat the hell out of his drum set being accompanied by Heregni's lines while Bthzr and Andremon certainly know how to get some innovative riffs as well as oldschool ones to work.
