Nexus: Wrapped In Cellophane
Nexus - Wrapped In Cellophane - [Cyberdelia Records]

2002-10-23

Nexus picked their name after the android from the movie Blade Runner
And indeed it seems to be that when androids don't dream of electric sheep they play Industrial-Goth in Greece. "Wrapped in Cellophane" has a powerful electronic element together with fierce Heavy Metal guitars and Melodies that remind of Nine Inch Nails, Depech Mode and Wumpscut.
The album is full of diversity and switches between Rock, Goth, Synth-pop, and Industrial in a blink of an eye that are combined together by the dark electronic sounds and beats.

Mike Pougounas the creator of Cyberdelia Records and ex singer of Flowers of Romance had produced the album and demonstrates an impressive vocal variety (check out "Born in Razors" and "Sex Vampire") and he also plays the keyboards and samples.
J. Sidheog Steves supplies Techno, Brakebeats and Metal rythems by drums and tapes with the expertise of a pro in each of the categories.
Panos Economakis - Also an ex member of Flowers of Romance, Plays aggressive guitar parts that binds incredibly well with the computerized loops (listen to "Satan is my baby" and "Wrapped in Cellophane")
Costas spanos uses every special effect known to bass (and several that I would really like to know) to be a part of the electronic scene and actually gives bass a new definition.

"Wrapped In Cellophane" is an album that catches the ear on first hearing but
has a certain depth to be revealed in later hearing. I'm not sure whether to define this album as a Club album that also plays well at home or as a House Album that plays well at club, but it certainly has very powerful energies in both directions.
