Calm is a slightly misleading title for a band that regards brutal guitar riffs and maniac roars as an integral part of almost every track in the album.
I guess the answer to the question ‘are we supposed to be calm?’ would be:
Fuck no!
Calm is without doubt one of the most intriguing, brain damaging bands of the new age. Something like KORN – The next generation.
The band plays sophisticated psychotic nu-metal, making smart changes between distortion mayhem and smooth singing over clean guitars.
Two lead singers and one backing vocalist creating a rich dexterity of sound & style.
The opening track is an ingeniously devised hit single called: “correlated risen hands”. Reminds a bit of a very heavy Mr. Bangle. Calms main trick is breaking the simple hard to digest Brutal riffs into snappy HI FI nu-metal.
The album is made for the more complex & advanced audience.
This is definitely not the mainstream nu-metal that seems to be flooding the stages these days.
Warning – this album is not for the narrow minded.
