Calm - Are We Supposed To Be... - [Nu Metal Recordz]
Calm is a slightly misleading title for a band that regards brutal guitar riffs and maniac roars as an integral part of almost every track in the album.I guess the answer to the question ‘are we supposed to be calm?’ would be:
Fuck no!
Calm is without doubt one of the most intriguing, brain damaging bands of the new age. Something like KORN – The next generation.
The band plays sophisticated psychotic nu-metal, making smart changes between distortion mayhem and smooth singing over clean guitars.
Two lead singers and one backing vocalist creating a rich dexterity of sound & style.
The opening track is an ingeniously devised hit single called: “correlated risen hands”. Reminds a bit of a very heavy Mr. Bangle. Calms main trick is breaking the simple hard to digest Brutal riffs into snappy HI FI nu-metal.
The album is made for the more complex & advanced audience.
This is definitely not the mainstream nu-metal that seems to be flooding the stages these days.
Warning – this album is not for the narrow minded.
