SALEM has unveiled the artwork of the "Kadish" 2011 reissue.

The front cover of the upcoming reissue of "Kaddish", the cult 1994 album from Israeli death metal pioneers Salem, has been unveiled. Due next week via Raven Music, the CD's cover art and design was handled by the band's guitarist, Nir Gutraiman. The effort was remastered by UE Nastasi at Sterling Sound in New York City.
Originally released through Germany's Morbid Records and was distributed worldwide via SPV, "Kaddish" represents SALEM's personal dirge for the victims of the Holocaust during World War II.

Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal will be a special guest at Salem's May 6, 2011 concert at Reading 3 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The event will commemorate the re-release of Salem's cult 1994 album "Kaddish" (originally released by Germany's Morbid Records), an LP which represents the band's personal dirge for the victims of the Holocaust during World War II.

Commented Thal:
"['Kaddish'] is the most true-to-art doom metal album I've ever heard, completely capturing the horror of mankind's utmost vulnerability to evil and self-destruction. Being someone who lost family to the Nazis in Poland, this album tore straight to my soul".

The producer of the event, Yishai Swearts of Raven Music, stated:
"Both my parents' roots are sadly in the massacre done by the Nazis. My grandfather at the age of 13 saw his family slaughtered and had to escape to the forests of Russia and live in subhuman terms for four years under the snow and bloodshed. He survived the horror, came to Israel and built a family where I was born.
"I feel that Ron's family's tragedy, my family's tragedy and SALEM members family tree tragedy made it possible to unite and send a message of strength which is highly important and have a personal value for all of us.
"I am proud and glad to welcome Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal to be guest in the show and highly respect him for this important thing."

SALEM vocalist Zeev Tananboim added:
"'Kaddish' is our desperate cry in memory of the horrors that happened to our families.
"The Holocaust followed me all my life as a dark shade which is so scary to look at. By doing this album we dared to look at the face of the horror and send two important messages: We will never forget, and we are here to survive.
"I highly respect Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal as a musician and person. Though we live in different parts of the globe, we share the same loss, the same grief.
"Music was created to unite people's feelings.
"We are looking forward to this important show and special musical message with Ron".

System Divide has released the video for "The Apex Doctrine", the song will be featured in the album "The Conscious Sedation", plan to be released on September 2010 via Metal Blade records.
he CD was recorded at Conquistador studios in Cleveland, Ohio and was mixed and mastered by James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament).
The clip was directed by Kevin Custer, who has previously worked with Hatebreed, Testament, Dope, Dying Fetus & Suffocation.

Ronnie James Dio has passed away at the age of 67

Yesterday the metal world lost an amazing artist & person - the legendary Ronnie James Dio has passed away on May 16, 2010 at the age of 67.
Dio has performed with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his own band Dio.

On 25 November 2009, his wife/manager announced that Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
This summer Heaven and Hell has planed some shows and the tour was canceled in the beginning of this month due to Dio's condition.

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

Peter Steele, front-man of Type O Negative died at the age of 48

Yesterday April 14, 2010 the internet was flooded with rumors about the death of Peter Steele, the front-man of Type O Negative. a similar rumor was out in the year 2005 and turned out to be not true.

Mistress Juliya of Fuse TV wrote on her Twitter page that she spoke to Kenny Hickey, Type O Negative guitar player & he confirmed that the rumors were true.
Peter Steele was born in 1962 and released 7 studio albums with Type O Negative between the years 1991 and 2007.

The new Salem album will be released on April

Salem, The Israeli metal band will release their new album - "Playing God And Other Short Stories" on April 2010. a special release show will take place on April 3 at the Barbie club in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

A few months ago the band has signed a record deal with Pulverised Records, which will release the new album.
The new album will have 12 songs, guest vocals by Tomas Lindberg (At the Gates) and a cover version to Bob Marley song - Exodus.

Katatonia will play in Israel on April

Katatonia, the Swedish metal band will play a single show in Israel on April 13. The show will take place at the Barbie Club in Tel-Aviv.
A few months ago the band has released the album "Night Is The New Day", Katatonia's 8^th full-length album which has been released on November 2009 through Peaceville Records.
The band also released an iPhone application which contains tour dates, pictures & audio samples.

Lamb of God will play in Israel

Lamb of God will play a single show in Tel Aviv, Israel on May 30, 2010. the show will take placce at the Hanger 11, Tel-Aviv harbor.

Lamb Of God has formed in 1994 at Virginia, USA. they have eleased six studio albums, one live album, and three DVDs. In 2007 the band received a Grammy nomination for their 2006 album Sacrament.

During 2008-2009 they have toured with Metallica (World Magnetic Tour). And will be one of the headliners of the Rockstar Rockstar Mayhem in Summer 2010.

New Orphaned Land song is available for streaming

Orphaned Land, the Israeli metal band has posted another new song from the forthcoming new album: “The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR”.
The new Orphaned Land song “Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II” is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
the album will be released on February, 9^th 2010 in the U.S. and on January 25^th in Europe.

Singer Kobi Farhi explains: “Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II is a heavy song, both musically and lyrically and it is one of the most important tracks of the album by its meaning. Indeed, it calls for a laying down of arms, to realize that the warriors are first of all brothers: “Lay down your swords, blood and flesh you share”...” Shall we see the end of war, bloodbrothers?”. It is definitively the most outspoken text we ever wrote on this subject. Furthermore, as this song contains Arabic lyrics, we would like to dedicate it to our Arab fans and we hope that one day we will sing it together in a show in their home countries!” Check out “Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II” at the band's MySpace page.

The band will play a special album launch show in its home country on February 4^th, 2010 at the Theatre Club in Tel Aviv, tickets can be obtained at the MetalShop.co.il website.
