Aborted: Goremageddon (The saw and the carnage done)
Aborted - Goremageddon (The saw and the carnage done) - [Listenable Records]

2003-06-24

Out of the bloody swamp of new trend of Gore Metal bands comes Aborted, young and highly talented group from the uprising Belgian Death Metal scene with their third and most professional album.
In their third full length album they've apparently decided to step out of this swamp and to focus more on the music and the production, and the results are at their best.
Starting with the cover art, showing blood tainted blanket (or if you have the other version, some weird surgeon) that leaves no clue for the music inside, those who aren't familiar with their music would go ahead and judge them for the music and wouldn't criticize it mainly by its cover. The group has become matured in the songwriting ways and brings us their best so far autopsy. If you can take their previous album, Engineering The Dead, and claim that it's an uncut diamond you can find this album as a very well shaped diamond.
Great production that simply let the music sound at its best, with the opening track dedicated to the well infamous Ted Bundy, "Meticulous Invagination" and it's opening: "The Doctor is in…" the album begins to grind deep within your mind with highly performed Death Metal in it's best. Lots of time-changing pit riffs sewn together with an unforgiving load of mechanical sounding blast beats. A very smooth sounding solo awakens over the monster power chords; with the vocals that are a bestial blend of low gurgling death grunt mixed with higher pitched vocals which is typical of Aborted's music. Being heavily then the previous release, Goremageddon leaves no limb untouched. This is one of the best albums to year 2003, a must for every death metal fan.
