Bathtub Shitter: Dance Hall Grind
Bathtub Shitter - Dance Hall Grind

2006-12-28

You can say whatever you want about Japan's grind merchants Bathtub Shitter, but one thing you can't say is that you've heard anything like them in the past. And that's guaranteed.

Taking their influence from such classic acts as O.L.D. and D.R.I, whose song "Time Out" is covered here, the band creates dirty, immature and punk-infested grindcore, it's funny, manic, and almost indigestible, only if you have one sick pallet indeed.

Apart from one cover song and one instrumental piece, the album revolves around the ever appetizing subject of shit in all its glorious forms; the band's twisted vocalist screams about it, shouts about it, he sounds like a demented smurf in certain points and like a death metal growler in other parts - you get the picture, this is one insane ride.

Whether you like this or not depends a lot on your affinity for extreme grind from the 80's, because that's where their loyalties lie, anyone else should stir well away…
