Emberland: Emberland
Emberland - Emberland - [Blacksmith Productions]

2006-12-12

Brutal death metal from Russia, I haven’t heard too many of these, and while Emberland's music isn’t groundbreaking or overly inventive, it does get the job done, heavy and quite simplistic brutal death metal that mostly aims to be aggressive and violent.

Vocalist Faust's vocals are a strong point in the band, deep growls that bring to mind some of Chris Barnes's, you can't understand a word he's saying, even WITH the lyrics, but that's a brutal death metal constant. The music is pretty well played, again, quite close to Barnes' era Cannibal Corpse, it has some technicality in it, but its not overly complex, nice guitar riffs with some really solid drum work.

I can't really relate to any track in particular, they all sound pretty much the same, heavy and brutal, some nice ideas thrown in, but all-in-all, its brutal death, it doesn’t get too varied.

There's probably a huge death scene in Russia which I'm not aware off, and this is a pretty good example of solid brutal death metal from there, it isn’t anything new or astounding, but it's still pretty decent and certainly heavy enough stuff.
