Bitune: Bitune
Bitune - Bitune - [K.O.K.S Music]

2006-02-03

One of the ways I was about to introduce this EP was through explaining that these guys were taken under the wings of Ace (Skunk Anansie ex-guitarist), and I'm sure that's a name you all know too well, but this party is thrown for a whole different reason, and we'll stay focused on it.

"Bitune" exist since 1996, working and shaping their sound ever since, the first outcome of this efforts were a 7 tracks demo that fell into the hands of Ace, who spotted the talent at first sight and offered them to co work, next effort was an EP titled " all in one", in which their sound and direction was much more noticeable and the band got good reactions from the radio and press, now, they have began working with K.O.K.S, the four musicians have reassembled Ace and together release this EP that include five, strong, rocking, kickass tracks.

The only bad thing I can say about this EP (I rather start with the bad, so it will only get better from here) is that it's too short, I mean, 21 minuets is not enough from these guys, after two songs you're hooked and you'll always need more (well, not exactly bad, but in my point of view, it's wrong to leave me craving for more).

Bitune mix alternative rock with a bit of NuRock (in a good way), and deliver it with great tight sound, all instrument fit in perfectly, with exact parts that don't go too far, or stay too close.

The first song on the EP is "Still", a great choice for opening track, energetic, and heavy in a way we could still enjoy the justified frontman (Sascha Wiegand), in my opinion there will be no one more perfect for vocals for this band, and in general, great voice and great knowledge of how to use it, half way to the song there's this "A perfect circle" break which I think was really great, (nothing bad can happen when you're compared to APC).

Track 3, is the ballad, every alternative band needs a ballad, and there are two ways it could happen, it could be too soft, and too predictable, and there's the good way, the Bitune way, which give us a strong ballade, without leaving behind their expertise.
Kinda great 90's updated to year 2000 sound.

Bitune has worked hard to achieve their sound signature, you can hear it throughout the production as well as in their playing, and track selections, you can hear that these guys are learning, and know what they're doing- Great album to start off with.
